About the Conference
Over the course of this conference, Dr. Stewart Aledort will demonstrate his theory of the Omnipotent Child through a combination of lecture, demonstration group, and participant driven inquiry. Dr. Aledort will explore the therapist’s role in attempting to locate and work with the hidden passions in shame. Understandings of the therapist’s “bigness,” explored through the illustration of the therapist’s lap will drive exploration of early misattunements and their impact on the group dynamic, both within patients and therapist. Hidden somatic workings of excitement will be illuminated and discussed in relationship to the origins and working through of shame in the patient, group and therapist.
Each person attending the conference also participates in a small group experience that meets for three times over the course of the two days and is led by a senior member of GPALA
